Police are investigating a crash that killed an Everett woman Friday night.

Nichole Lynn Beery, 22, died when the vehicle she was riding in crashed on a U.S. Forest Service road near Highway 410, according to a news release by Washington State Patrol. It was only a few years ago that Nichole battled cancer and won.

The driver, 44, of Puyallup, lost control of his 1988 Suzuki Samurai, which veered of the road and rolled over, police said. He was treated at the scene. Beery's friend, a 20-year-old Lynnwood woman, was not injured.

Detectives from the Washington State Patrol say the investigation is ongoing.
